Inertisation of Product Tanks
Process description
During inerting, air and the oxygen it contains is displaced by an inert gas in order to protect the product. Inert gases are gases which are very unreactive, such as, for example, nitrogen and carbon dioxide, as well as all noble gases.
Messer solution
Tank systems, pipelines and headspaces of bottles during filling are inerted more and more. In this process step mainly nitrogen and carbon dioxide are used.
Advantages:
- No oxidative and microbial spoilage
- Distinctive character remains intact
- Simple, cost-effective equipment
- Equipment has a dual function, used to remove oxygen and for carbonating
As one of the leading industrial gases companies Messer has many years of know-how in the field of inerting and provides the gases required.
