Total E-Quality award: Industrial gases specialist Messer receives equal opportunities and diversity award

Messer, largest family-run industrial gases specialist worldwide, has for the first time received an award for equal opportunities in its personnel and organization policies from Total E-Quality Deutschland e.V., a non-profit association. The Total E-Quality award is supported and commended by the German Federal Ministry of Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth as well as the Federal Ministry of Education, Science, Research and Technology.

Only four of the 13 new award winners gained the additional “Diversity” accolade, Messer being one of them. It is valid for a period of three years.

In 2019, the Bad Soden based family business has been involved in the initiative “Made in Germany – Made by Vielfalt” [“Made in Germany – Made by Diversity and, together with a total of around 50 German family businesses, is speaking out for open-mindedness and against xenophobia. In Messer’s annual Corporate Responsibility Report, owner Stefan Messer always makes a commitment to the company’s values and stresses their importance. His son Marcel Messer, who joined the company in May 2018, emphasis: “As a member of the fourth generation, I am committed in particular to open-mindedness, diversity, tolerance and respect for cultural differences – without limitation or exception. Our culture offers space for everyone – regardless of nationality, religion, ethnicity or sexual orientation – to develop on a free and equal basis. Diversity enriches us.”
